A Principal Engineer focused on Photo Equipment is an integral member of the Technology Development Engineering team at Micron Technology and enables our development of tomorrow's memory and storage technology! We develop groundbreaking semiconductor processing hardware both internally with process engineering and externally with vendors to enable novel process technology. Job Description Technology Development Photo Equipment Engineer

Equipment Management

  • Work with vendors to develop and enhance equipment performance not only for F4, but for HVM applications as well.
  • Develop, monitor and revise PM strategies to ensure the system is performing optimally
  • Schedule vendor tasks (MAPs, Patches, Consumable replacements, Repairs, etc.)
  • Develop availability, reliability, and productivity improvement plans
  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects including, but not limited to, coordination, installation, maintenance, documentation, modification and over all support of equipment projects.

Additional Items to manage:

  • Tool Matching / Reticle Modification
  • Imaging Stability Monitoring
  • Defectivity Monitoring
  • Reticle / Lens Heating / Wafer Heating analysis
  • Investigate excursions
  • Backside wafer contamination monitoring/investigations
  • Scanner recipes
  • Software upgrades and issues

Equipment monitoring

  • Work with Vendors to develop and enhance equipment performance through monitoring and performance metrics.
  • Provide updates to management regarding system issues, metrics and overall performance
  • Monitor and track the following items:
  • Tool Matching / Reticle Modification
  • Chuck flatness
  • Baseliner Overlay and Focus Stability
  • ADAM/E3/SPACE/scripts and macros
  • Laser performance metrics

Facilities

  • Work with Vendors to develop and enhance equipment performance through monitoring and performance metrics.
  • Work with facilities engineering and operations on any facilities issues or any new requirements from ASML

Vendor management

  • New Vendor Badging and Safety Tours
  • Renew badges when needed for existing vendors
  • ILSBRES user access maintenance

R&D Area Objectives

  • Contributes expert subject area knowledge to resolve issues and solve highly complex problems
  • Support ongoing assigned projects. Work with process development engineers on issues and projects.
  • Summarize plans, progress to existing experimental work, and concluded work in the form of written reports.
  • Work on the equipment in any areas where you can help meet department goals
  • Help to shape strategic decisions
  • Provides advice and counsel to senior management on significant technical issues
  • Builds on strong customer relationships to understand customer expectations

Develop yourself and others

  • Serve as a technical scanner authority within Micron.
  • Possess equipment knowledge in your area.
  • Support inform and train other Equipment Engineers in the group.
  • Act as an expert and resource for on shift equipment techs and engineers.
  • Provide training and documentation in your areas of scanner expertise for pilot line, and PDE engineering
  • Recognize and reward Micron team members for outstanding performance.
  • Active engagement with your counterparts in other fabs on equipment issues related to yield, cost, productivity and performance.
  • Provide documentation related to equipment configuration and setup.
  • Engage the vendors for information to improve your knowledge of the equipment

Safety

  • Identify and promptly report hazards.
  • Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer s and company guidelines.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner.
  • Maintain safety certifications in TRAIN.
