As a Senior IT Portfolio Manager at Micron Technology, your focus will be the management of IT s global portfolio. The portfolio manager is a strategic role, requiring teamwork across senior IT leadership to ensure process adherence and successful portfolio delivery. Job responsibilities also include financially focused aspects, both at the project and portfolio levels, and reporting on the state and performance of initiatives within the global portfolio.

This role assumes the overarching responsibility for supporting IT leadership in their efforts at coordinating, leading and bringing to bear the entire life cycle of IT investments and initiatives to successfully achieve enterprise goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate works independently, balances multiple activities at the same time, sets priorities, and pivots to new tasks quickly. Creativity, organization, and clear communication, are required. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Collaboration with peers, leaders, and global counterparts is essential.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of senior leadership toward the establishment of project portfolio definitions, structures and processes, from demand management and strategic alignment of projects and programs to portfolio categories and criteria, through evaluation, selection and prioritization, to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved results.
  • Coordination of material to support quarterly portfolio reviews with CIO staff and senior business executives, to validate and assess, execute changes, and prioritize to meet business needs as required.
  • Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across efforts within the portfolio.
  • Direct the development and maintenance of communications and reporting around the IT global portfolio
  • Ensure adherence to the appropriate governance functions relating to the portfolio and in accordance with enterprise guidelines, policies and practices, including required project portfolio documentation and artifacts required thru various project stage gates.
  • Provide mentorship and best-practices advice to IT's Project Manager Community.
  • Indirect supervision of remote team members, mentorship of junior level staff, and contributions to performance reviews.
  • Contribute and drive continuous improvement of organizational project management processes, including the maturation of metrics to evaluate the health and performance of the IT portfolio through data analysis.

Education and Experience

  • Ten or more years of experience in IT, including diverse roles and growing leadership responsibilities across project and program management.
  • Experience leading projects for banking operations, loan servicing, and enterprise risk. departments at a financial institution preferred.
  • Understanding of Agile software development processes
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology or Business or Equivalent Experience required
