Transportation Engineer
This position will perform transportation related design tasks including roadway geometric design and plan and specification preparation. The successful candidate will exercise judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design
engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make design decisions and modifications and be accountable to a Project Lead/Manager.
Responsibilities Include:
+ Collect and analyze data from reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
+ Maintain client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
+ Provide design budget oversight.
+ Assist in the development of probable design costs estimated for projects with the department.
+ Attend onsite and offsite client meetings.
+ Prepare and check design computations and quantity estimates.
+ Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and permits for projects.
+ Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Must have ability to use InRoads and Microstation. Work with designers/technicians to develop designs and CAD-based working files
into working drawings.
+ Roadway modeling and preparation of roadway cross sections using InRoads.
+ Coordination with vendors, regulatory agencies, utility companies and sub consultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements.
+ Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual.
+ Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
+ Must possess a minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
+ Must have experience with Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) projects
+ Must possess an Idaho PE registration/license
+ Must have ability to use InRoads and Microstation
+ Must be able to perform roadway modeling and prepare roadway cross sections using InRoads
+ Drainage and utility design knowledge/skills are a plus
+ Must possess good written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment
+ Must have strong computer skills (Word, Excel)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
