We are recruiting to fill multiple US based Construction Field Engineer positions.
These positions are based in the US and require candidates that are US citizen or legal residents with a current US Green Card. You must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Some of the physical requirements of this position are traveling / field
service job that requires you to be able to be away from home for extended periods of time, the ability to lift safely a minimum of 50 pounds, perform physical work related activities, and wear personal safety protection equipment (PPE).
The Construction Field Engineer is responsible for assisting the Site Management Team on technical matters arising in the erection of equipment. The Construction Field Engineer will work under the supervision of an Engineer in evaluating solutions for field
issues and will advise the Site Manager, Construction Manager or Engineering Manager on technical matters pertaining to the construction of assigned components. Primary Construction Field Engineering responsibilities include managing scope change, providing
scope clarity and supporting actual progress to plan. Additional responsibilities may include assisting in receipt of materials, and reporting engineering and manufacturing variations. Duties also include the inventory of equipment, tools and consumable supplies,
including familiarity with their use and applications.
The Construction Projects range from $2M to $40M, are typically 3-12 months in length, and generally contain over 100,000 construction craft hours and include a construction management staff. Primary contacts include peer group, personnel within own department
and personnel in other departments and suppliers, requiring effective interface and communication with others.
Individuals in this position are expected to consistently exemplify the organization's safety-first attitude and practices. An important responsibility of this position is to work safely, to expect others to work safely and to help the organization identify
and eliminate or mitigate hazardous conditions on a continual basis.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Assist Site Management Team on technical matters arising in the erection of equipment. Primary project responsibilities will include, but not limited to ?
o Electrical Subcontract Management.
o Responsible to finalize Subcontract Scope of Work and conformed contract between GE and chosen Subcontractor.
o Responsible to manage daily activities of the Electrical Subcontractor with a keen focus on ensuring compliance with scope of work minimizing change order potentials.
o Balance of Plant Piping.
o Responsible to manage as bid conditions for scope as compared to customer required final conditions.
o Track work scope monitoring and coordinating any changes.
o Work with the Site Lead on defining Change Order requirements.
o Assist in the evaluation and solution of scope variances and changes.
o Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for field personnel.
o Continually provide solutions to variations in structural/mechanical/electrical/rigging drawings and specifications by conferring with the respective consultants.
o Coordinate these solutions with the various trades.
o Monitor installation of materials to assure compliance with contract documents.
o Understand contract scope and identify & document changes related to work scope
o Tracking - Report accurate quantities for labor cost reports and accurately monitor and support actual progress to plan for jobs in execution.
o Accurately complete layout work
o Work with tendering and engineering teams on proposal efforts (estimating, planning and coordination)
o Review drawings for conformance with contract, ensuring information is accurately communicated to site management
o Complete basic structural design and support preparation of rigging and lifting procedures to ensure on-site work is performed safely
o Assist engineering with structural engineering, constructability and feasibility studies and drafting

o Strong observation and communication skills
o Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documents
o Must be able to effectively communicate with others
o Ability to organize and prioritize work
o Ability to analyze data and identify the reasons behind specific decisions
o Skill with MS Office
o Working knowledge of steam generation and related power plant equipment
Required Experience (Essential Functions)
o Minimum of (7) years field engineering and/or supervisory experience in power generation construction or a closely related industry
o MS Office proficiency required
o Specific education and/or training in Project Management and/or scheduling programs (Primavera) is a plus
o Travel required (ranging from several weeks to several months)
Educational Requirements
o Technical Degree required. B.S. degree desirable, (engineering or construction management preferred).
o A special combination of education plus demonstrated accomplishments will be considered.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
