Saint Alphonsus is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator (Critical Response) to provide oversight for planning, implementation and evaluation of the critical response program which includes Medical Response Team (MRT), Code Blue, and Code Sepsis.
This person is responsible to design and implement a program to improve early recognition and prompt treatment of patient deterioration and serves as lead educator for staff and responders. He/she will collaborate with the nursing staff, medical staff, MRT Responders, Nurse Managers, Patient Safety department, nursing administration, Critical Response Committee, and others to enhance critical response performance.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Must be licensed in the State of Idaho as a Registered Nurse as defined by the Idaho State Board of Nursing
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
3. The following American Heart Association certifications are required:
a. Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP)
b. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS)
c. Pediatric Advanced Life Provider (PALS)
4. Experience in critical care nursing strongly preferred
5. Experience as program coordinator, nursing leadership position or educator preferred
6. Must be self-directed and professional with critical thinking skills
7. Computer skills including basic database development preferred
8. High degree of accuracy and efficiency in record keeping and clinical functions
9. Able to exercise judgment and tactful discussion of cases with nursing staff, MRT responders, and medical staff.
10. Superior verbal and written communication skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Meets Health System's Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
2. Develops and provides education and mentoring to newly recruited responders.
3. Develops and provides ongoing education, development and feedback to responders.
4. Develops and provides ongoing education, mentoring and feedback to the nursing staff.
5. Provides recognition to staff for involvement in the critical response process.
6. Develops physician relationships, gathers input from physicians, and promotes the use of critical response evidence-based practices with physicians.
7. Ensures that critical response equipment is appropriate and available.
8. Rounds on the nursing units to provide real time education, timely debriefing, and mentoring to medical and nursing staff.
9. In collaboration with others, develops an early warning system to identify deteriorating patients in a timely manner.
10. Conducts monitoring and data collection regarding the performance of the critical response processes.
11. Identifies opportunities to improve the Critical Response Program and coordinates development, implementation, and monitoring of process improvements.
12. Develops and maintains databases.
13. Analyzes, displays, and communicates findings.
14. Monitors quality of care issues related to critical response.
15. Maintains compliance with Joint Commission standards.
16. Continuously maintains knowledge of information/research regarding critical response and sepsis and assimilates evidence-based practice into current processes.
17. Maintains written policies/procedures regarding critical response.
18. Provides consultation to other Ministry Organizations to develop and improve critical response programs throughout the Saint Alphonsus Health System.
19. Serves as back-up responder as available during concurrent calls.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
