An Analytical Chemist at Micron (Boise) provides technical and analytical support for global facilities performing research and development, manufacturing, and manufacturing support. ¬ The Lab is on the cutting-edge of technology with state-of-the-art instrumentation.¬  Night shift work will be required and working in a cleanroom environment will be required.


Typical responsibilities of this position may include:

  • Sample analysis and data acquisition

  • Data analysis and results reporting

  • Operational maintenance/repair on analytical instrumentation

  • Development and documentation of new analytical procedures

  • Professional and technical interaction with customers

  • Use of Microsoft Office products and other job specific software applications

  • Candidate must be comfortable working in a high throughput environment with minimal supervision, and must possess the aptitude and desire to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic technical environment.



Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Experience in any of the following disciplines is desirable, however not mandatory for the right candidate:

  • ¬ ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS

  • Ion Chromatography

  • Molecular spectroscopy:¬  FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN

  • Laser ablation ICP-MS

  • Thermal Analysis:¬  Rheology, TGA, DSC, TMA, DMA

  • GC and GCMS

  • Thermal Desorption GCMS

  • HPLC and/or LCMS

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • The ability to learn new data reduction and acquisition software packages

  • Experience in statistical data analysis

  • Willingness to work a full time night shift



BS in Chemistry or other relevant science with applicable experience is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
