This Entry-level Deskside Support Engineer Job in Boise, ID is responsible for providing onsite support services such as installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware and equipment in order to ensure optimal performance.
Will be required to troubleshoot issues in a timely fashion as well as performing regular backups and restorations.
All IMAC activities performed will have to be followed within SLA objectives and work provided will have a direct impact on client satisfaction and interaction.
Main responsibilities for this role (but not limited to):
o Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions.
o Resolve tickets within the client SLA and obtain a high client Satisfaction Rating.
o Perform Installs, Moves, Adds and Change (IMAC) activities.
o Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software.
o Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to Mac and PC boxes, including the installation of CPUs, I/O and NIC cards, hard disks, ribbon cables, hard drives, RAM, memory chips, and CD-ROMs.
o May be required to complete all related administrative duties.
o Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation networking software products.
o Accurately document instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal.
o Understand the local and regional infrastructure and key contacts in order to ensure that the proper team is aware of, and taking action on the problem.
o Liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors when necessary.
Knowledge and skills required:
o Excellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware.
o Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
o Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
o Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
o Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
o Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
o Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
o Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
o Typically will require 1-3 years or related experience in desktop client support or related field.
o High school diploma/GED with 2-4 years of related work experience, or a University degree in Computer Science or related field.
o At least 1 year experience in mobile device client support.
o At least 1 year experience in Microsoft OS and Application support.
