Coordinates and processes accounts receivable for the Police & Fire Departments. Administers the Department's False Alarm Program and fulfills the Court Liaison role. Calculates and issues travel per diems and conducts travel reconciliation. Works independently following established guidelines and under general direction.

Essential Functions:
Performs accounts receivable functions. Compiles and sends invoices for payment and enters invoices into receivables tracking. Tracks receivables for timeliness and follows up as needed. (40%)
Administers the False Alarm Program. Receives and inputs false alarm notices into database software and false alarm tracking. Processes payments and maintains records for false alarms. Processes payments for any false alarms that generate a fee, and communicates with vendors on false alarm issues. (10%)
Prepares and processes travel per diems and travel reconciliation upon the employee's return from travel. Maintains petty cash box, replenishment and reconciliation. Serves as the accounts payable backup for purchase orders, invoice payments, and purchasing card accounts. Assists with budget maintenance. (20%)
Serves as the Court Liaison by coordinating court appearances for police officers and organizing related paperwork. (10%)
Processes payments received into the City's financial software, makes bank deposits, and ensures the correct expenditure line items are charged. (20%)

Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Requires education and/or experience to attain the following:
Three years experience in accounts receivable processing, and a high school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, computerized accounting systems and software.
Ability to apply accounting principles to resolve problems; accurately perform complex mathematical calculations; use accounting and spreadsheet software; prepare reports; establish priorities and organize workload; research and analyze data; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish methods, procedures, and internal controls to maintain accounts payable and purchasing card systems; complete tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines; maintain accurate and detailed accounting records; accurately prepare accounts payable and p-card reports; reconcile complex, high volume accounts; work independently or with minimal supervision; exercise good judgment; interpret and follow City code, policies, regulations and procedures; recommend solutions and correct problems; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English Language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; maintain confidentiality with sensitive documents or information; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and two-three years experience in accounts receivable processing, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Desire governmental accounting experience.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
