# Position Summary
Albertsons Library is the hub of campus research and innovation, and our staff and students need the tools and technology to be successful. The Library is seeking a dynamic and proactive Systems Engineer to help provide those tools: a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and who welcomes each new challenge as a new opportunity. The Systems Engineer will be a key partner in the Library's development and management of web systems, its' research enterprise, and educational mission, and will collaborate with faculty, staff and students in the Library and around campus while taking a lead role in problem resolution, characterized by exemplary customer service.
The Systems Engineer will have experience with software development, and be capable of using a variety of systems and languages. Those skills will be used to bridge the gap between library systems and patrons/staff, through agile code development that facilitates automation and reduces manual tasks.
Purpose of the position:
Support and develop the Library's virtual server environment.
Develop automated solutions that enhance Library services, using a variety of programming languages.
Support and develop the Library's web services utilizing PHP, HTML5 and JavaScript.
# Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
3 years recent experience with Active Directory environment.
Scripting and reusable coding experience in multiple programming languages.
# Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager and Systems Center Virtual Machine Manager.
Windows Hyper-V server configuration, administration and troubleshooting experience.
Advanced knowledge of network architectures, protocols, and security fundamentals.
Thorough understanding of Linux systems and commands (specifically Red Hat Enterprise 5 & 6).
Experience setting up and configuring Cisco networking equipment.
Cisco or Microsoft Certification (CCENT, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE).
