Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Hematologic Malignancies team! This position is a unique opportunity to join a state-of-the-art facility with a warm, family feeling.

Unit/Position Summary

n

The Boise St.
Luke's Cancer Institute (SLCI) is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to cancer patients, offering a spectrum of services from early detection to survivorship support.
Within SLCI, the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program is a beacon of comprehensive care and cellular therapy for individuals battling leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic disorders, and other blood cancers.
Distinctively, Boise SLCI hosts Idaho's sole BMT and Hematologic Malignancies Program, ensuring patients access to the most cutting-edge therapies in their community.

The role of the BMT RN is a versatile position characterized by medical guidance, educational support, and compassionate care within an interprofessional team framework.
Primary responsibilities include patient education, care coordination, phone triage, and hands-on involvement in the newly established BMT Infusion Clinic, where stem cell transplant and CAR T patients are evaluated and managed.
The BMT RN is committed to delivering excellence in patient care by collaborating closely with BMT providers, nurse navigators, pharmacists, patient financial advocates (PFAs), social workers, and other allied disciplines.

6 FTE
(8-hour shifts x 3 days a week).
Day shift.
No nights.
No weekends.
No holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • n
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments
  • n
  • Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework
  • n
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions
  • n
  • Manages care of patients
  • n
  • Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities
  • n
  • Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adopting evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery
  • n
  • Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
