Power Delivery Boise Substation Dept Description Entry Level Drafter Job Summary POWER Engineers is currently seeking a full-time Entry Level Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Boise office located in Meridian, Idaho.
Roles and Responsibilities
The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience Required Education/Experience
Associates Degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree or experience)
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (schoolwork, internship, and/or workplace)
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.
S.
without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for completing tasks
Experience working with scaled drawings
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks
Drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment
Experience with BIM automation tools
Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams is beneficial
Good background in mathematics
Familiarity with Microsoft ProjectWise File Management System
