Essential Functions Performs inspections of airfield and airport property to ensure FAA (Federal Aviation Regulations) FAR 139 Certification compliance.
Reports airport and airfield conditions.
Inspects runways and taxiways, along with safety areas, and airfield markings/signs/lighting.
Monitors local and regional weather patterns.
Reports field conditions during winter operations.
Monitors airport movement and non-movement areas for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
Issues proper Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS).
Conducts wildlife mitigation efforts on and around the airport.
Ensures compliance with TSA 1542 through airport terminal and perimeter security inspections.
Monitors movement and airport access through security access tracking software and responds to all alarms.
Monitors and controls multi-faceted enhanced Closed Caption Television (CCTV) and access control systems using computer software.
(60%)Responds to all emergency and medical incidents.
Interacts with victims, emergency responders, and witnesses and completes appropriate reports.
Works and assists the Incident Command.
(10%)Provides customer service to the public and airport community.
Maintains lost and found program.
Provides assistance and guidance for airlines and airport vendors.
Regulates and enforces rules and regulations.
Responds to City of Boise Clerk's office and court proceedings when tickets are contested.
(10%)Operates and monitors radio system to communicate airport functions as well as emergencies on and around the airport.
Operates and/or monitors flight information displays, weather displays, runway surface sensor displays, and fire detection system and emergency notifications.
Operates computer terminals.
(10%)Performs Boise Airport Credentialing office operations.
Maintains security threat assessment database and daily submissions of badging credentials to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) clearing house.
Processes security badging, credentialing and training applications.
Maintains and submits security threat assessment data, administers fingerprints, and interprets results.
Provides training to employees, tenants, and others as outlined in TSA 1542 and FAR 139.
Maintains signatory authority records, administers, and reviews annul audits.
Conducts multiple comprehensive audits of security media compliance for internal and external agencies.

Total Percentage = 100% Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Aviation Science, Business, Public Administration, or closely related field, and 1 year of experience in airport operations or administration, including demonstrated experience conducting FAR 139 airfield inspections, or An equivalent combination of education and/or experience Level of Knowledge:
Working knowledge of airport and airline operations and security Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the operations of a certified, commercial airport Airfield and terminal procedures and technical aviation issues, equipment, and administration Safety practices and precautions sufficient to recognize and correct hazardous situations Basic aviation and airport control procedures that sufficiently provide safe coordination of various areas of the airport and aircraft Ability To:
Operate a computer and applicable software Prepare clear, accurate, concise, and comprehensive oral and written reports, logs, and NOTAMS Exercise sound judgment in stressful situations Handle customer concerns skillfully and respectfully Remain calm under public criticism Prioritize work and relay information during emergency situations Make quick decisions and adopt and/or modify established practices and procedures to emergency situations Accomplish multiple tasks accurately with frequent interruptions Interpret regulations, policies, and procedures Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City of Boise employees and the public Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance Complete assignments in a timely fashion Understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations Maintain prompt and regular attendance Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record Individuals must annually qualify and maintain qualification standards with firearms and pyrotechnics Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training 3 years of experience conducting FAA FAR 139 and TSA 1542 Compliance Inspections, or Experience as a pilot, crew member, flight dispatcher, or military experience American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) training/credentials including Airport Certified Employee (ACE), Basic or Advanced Airport Safety and Operations Specialists (ASOS) Certification.
FEMA NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 Certification.
