Ada County Prosecutor Greets guests, visitors and callers, in person and telephonically, providing department-related information and/or directing them to appropriate offices or staff members; performs clerk duties and related duties as required.
The position is located in the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Essential Functions Operates a web-based central phone agent console to receive and route a high volume of calls; Receives, records and transmits telephone messages to appropriate parties; Greets and directs guests and visitors to appropriate offices, locations or staff members; Answers general questions to provide authoritative information about agencies policies, procedures and services; Obtains information and operates multiple computer programs simultaneously to respond to questions and requests; Helps dissatisfied persons by identifying and resolving problems or questions and defers to appropriate staff; Screens calls to control access to staff; Receives, researches and routes all incoming paperwork and digital filings from various departments, agencies, and other entities to appropriate parties; Distributes outgoing paperwork from the reception desk to various departments, agencies and appropriate entities as instructed; Data entry into Ada County Prosecutor Case Management System and/or other systems as required; Monitors and escorts visitors per security requirements; Maintains subpoena line and processes incoming subpoenas; and Receives and uploads electronic information to case management system.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Types electronic correspondence, documents, addresses and personal identifiers on forms; Prepares closing sheets for files; Responsible for processing and updating exhibit inventories for criminal division; Receives and signs for mail, packages and supplies; and Performs related duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Demands Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions; May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
