Compliance & Permitting Project Manager

Job Details Description Brown and Caldwell is looking to add a senior-level Project Manager to our growing compliance and permitting practice specifically for the Mining Market Sector. The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge base in the application of environmental regulations, understanding of local, state, and federal compliance requirements, experience with project delivery and client management, business and proposal development skills, and ability to work collaboratively in teams and mentoring junior staff. Experience managing compliance and permitting projects, which include the following:
water quality (i.e., NPDES), air quality (i.e., state and federal), NEPA, and supporting technical studies. Particularly important is experience managing multiple compliance and permitting and site investigation and remediation projects for private sector clients. Detailed Description:
This role will provide a high level of support for ongoing and new projects for private sector projects throughout North America. In addition, this position will support project development (i.e., scopes of work, proposals, and project budgeting), compliance strategy development, representing our clients in negotiations with regulatory agencies, and promoting a high level of technical competence in our work products. The position also provides the opportunity to manage projects of varying size and complexity. Additional job responsibilities are as follows:
Manage and execute work on compliance and permitting projects for industrial, commercial and/or mining facilities including program planning and development, permitting, and reporting Support client program internally for large, multi-disciplined team, coordinating program planning, and leading program task managers to execute program plan, team training, and report writing Manage multiple complex projects and programs in diverse settings and with changing requirements; Participate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team atmosphere Prepare and make presentations to clients for professional meetings Successfully manage and deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high quality Utilize internal project management tools and resources Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve production and efficiency Mentor/supervise, delegate, and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers; coordinate with other disciplines Ensure the program team is implementing BC's quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) process Support business development pursuits related to client opportunities Desired Skills and
Experience:
B.S. in engineering, planning, environmental science, geology, or related discipline required; M.S. degree and professional certifications in field preferred Minimum of 10 years of professional related experience required Demonstrated project management experience working with industrial clients on environmental projects Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience Project management skills including attention to health and safety; program delivery strategy development and execution by collaborating with a team of project managers and staff; financial metrics tracking; and implementation of QA/QC Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations and environmental due diligence Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation Valid driver's license and good driving record are required Routine travel between offices, clients' locations and to client sites will be required The candidate should have the ability to successfully collaborate with BC's local, regional, and national Compliance and Permitting practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff Project experience facilitating and working with regulators and clients on projects associated with site specific investigations, remediation, compliance and permitting Development of project schedules using management or scheduling software to prepare and maintain detailed task lists, track milestones, allocate resources, and evaluate schedule compliance Experience communicating with environmental regulatory agencies on permitting and compliance matters Strong quantitative and analytical skills required Excellent technical writing and communication skills Experience and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Colorado Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $123,000 - $169,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. Benefits and Other Compensation:
