The Sr. Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading the continuous improvement process in our Distribution Operation Centers and our Branch Warehouse Centers. They will also lead efforts and drive strategic projects directly related to improving KPIs. This role requires you to acquire deep subject matter knowledge about warehouse management systems, distribution, and fulfillment processes to manage and drive the business. It is essential that you can think strategically and analytically, connect the dots in the bigger picture, as well as be comfortable in the details of the deliverables to drive operational improvements. This position will be responsible for delivering process improvement capabilities and supporting change notice implementation and validation activities. This role will be providing a calculated cost savings through the process improvements that are developed and implemented.
Responsibilities:
Works with DC & Branch Management to identify holes in processes or recommend changes to improve inventory control going forward. Identifying, prioritizing, analyzing, and eliminating losses and inefficiencies Resolve warehouse management system issues accurately and timely to reduce down time in warehouses (identify root causes and supply possible solutions) Develop and supply strategic reporting to the Supply Chain Operations team, including:
quarterly summaries, monthly trends, week-over-week analysis, and daily reporting Identify process and system gaps, and highlight areas for optimization/automation with the goal of driving projects to improve these areas. Documents these improvements, tracking the ROI. Develop and drive departmental and organizational goals through data analysis with the ability to speak to multiple levels of the business Take a high level of ownership of site training and team development based around system and process improvements with the goal of preventing inaccuracies and improving efficiencies Make recommendations to DC management on programs to improve inventory management and security. Developing, implementing and trending process metrics to continuously monitor and improve distribution. Creating and improving standards to enable us to achieve the performance targets for the warehouse and distribution centers Supporting and executing process validation protocols, while helping to generate reports with Postponement Project Manager. Understanding and supporting training of the Lean tools and systems to the warehouse team including supervisors, team leads, and warehouse operators Supporting Practical Problem Solving by utilizing PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and 8 Step Problem Solving Methods and document using A3 template. Identifying areas of improvements within warehouse, postponement processes and layouts, while supporting the development and updates of Value Stream Mapping for processes. Supporting investigation and implementation of countermeasures to any efficiency, quality, or safety concern utilizing 3C forms. Leading Kaizen events within the local distribution team, while helping to develop and support implementation of new Lean Tools into the warehouse (6S, Quick and Easy Kaizen, etc.) May Load, unload, sort, stage and transport product into and out of our Distribution Center or branch locations as part of training or as required. Individuals in this position must work cooperatively with other departments in a safe, accurate and productive manner with little or no supervision. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management or equivalent required. Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in inventory control/management, logistics or related experience, two of which required to be in process improvement. Process improvement experience using methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma is a plus Project management and/or experience in process improvement projects is highly desired Self-starter with urgency, requiring minimum direction to make significant improvements Experience with MS Office products (required) and SAP and/or Oracle (preferred) Requires knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing terminology and practices. Skills in analytics and spreadsheets are vital. Accuracy and thoroughness required with great attention to detail. Must have good organizational skills and love to work in a fast-paced environment. Need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to prioritize multiple escalations and work toward solutions. Proficient in MS excel, G Suite Preferred and can present their findings to leadership Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of the alternative energy industry and products is especially beneficial but not required. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Process Management, Supply Chain & LogisticsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
