The Boise Advanced Heart Failure clinic is now hiring a motivated and efficient Medical Assistant for our award winning and growing Heart Institute family!


Position Summary & Highlights:
  • $1500 Sign-On Bonus Offered for this position to external candidates!

  • This position will primarily support the Advanced Heart Failure clinic and will occasionally cover other sub-specialties.

  • Saint Alphonsus offers the highest level of integrated, multidisciplinary care for patients, including expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients who need heart transplant or ventricular assist device therapy.

  • Doctors at Saint Alphonsus are experienced and compassionate in caring for patients with end-stage heart failure and advanced heart failure.


What You Will Do:
  • You will help support Idaho's only fellowship trained Heart Failure provider, Dr. Sophia Airhart, in addition to other surgeons, cardiologists, APP providers, PAs, and NPs.

  • This position will perform rooming, vitals including manual blood pressure, chart prep, collecting patient medical history information, medication review, and EKGs.

  • You will complete prior authorizations and patient calls, and tasks in the in-basket.

  • An ideal candidate for this position is a team player who is self-motivated and likes to be challenged, is driven, and has strong critical thinking skills. You enjoy developing relationships with physicians and patients.

  • Experience with cardiac medications, obtaining manual blood pressures, EKG placement, and rhythm knowledge is a plus.


Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, 4 - 10 hour days, or 5 - 8 hour days, during the week, Monday - Friday.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:


    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

    • National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
