We are looking for a dynamic, talented HSE Director- Western Operations to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Distribution Business division based in Boise, Idaho.
The Role is 100% remote, with some % Travel In this role, the HSE Director- Western Operations will make an impact in the following ways:
DescriptionImplements and sustains a positive health, safety and environmental culture through the application of the management systems framework in a highly complex site(s).
This includes establishing the short term and long-term strategic plan for the site to foster continual health, safety and environmental Improvement, leading programs, policies and assessments and monitoring performance to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards.
Builds strong relationships across functions to ensure the organization understands and are accountable for their roles and responsibilities and are committed to driving a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
Ensures employees are consulted and given the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures.

Leads an effective support model throughout the site through training, skills development and internal communications.
Develops and manages support content ensuring it is up to date, controlled and available while adhering to data privacy regulations.
Interfaces with external regulatory bodies as required with the support of the legal department.
Directs daily health, safety and environmental operations within the site(s) providing subject matter expertise on complex issues, including but not limited to health, safety and environmental compliance, capital and resource management, risk reduction, incident investigation, management of change, contractor safety, emergency preparedness and response, pollution prevention and environmental sustainability.
Initiated improvement to health, safety and environmental performance metrics using a risk-based and data-driven approach.
Adheres to Cummins internal reporting requirements through approved systems.
Evaluates site health, safety and environmental data, legal compliance findings, and internal and external audit results to build a tactical improvement plan.
Leads Health, Safety, Environmental Management Systems review annually in conformance with Cummins internal requirements.
Directs work cross-functionally as required to resolve work-related incidents, non-compliances, non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions driving continual improvement within the site(s).
Coaches and develops direct reports and cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback, observations and succession plan needs.
Actively seeks opportunities for self-development through professional health, safety and environmental organizations or similar forums as a champion of emerging trends.

Measurement and Evaluation of Health, Safety and Environment Performance - Collects and analyzes data by creating key performance indicators to evaluate performance trends, deliver improvement goals and objectives, inform strategy and protect employees and the environment.
Education, Licenses, CertificationsCollege, university, or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental required.
Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Additional ExperienceThis is a remote position that must be located within the Cummins Sales and Service North America (CSSNA) geographySignificant relevant experience required, including managerial, and budgetary experience.
Experience in management of health, safety and environmental ISO Standards required.
7-10 years of experience, 4-5 years of experience as a managerCompensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience, range:
$127,000-$212,500.
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range.
The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
