The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education provides leadership and coordination for programs in career technical education in various parts of the state.
With a customer-service focus the Division leads Idaho's efforts to prepare youth and adults for high-skill, in-demand careers.

The Professional Development Coordinator will coordinate the mentorship and professional development for new career technical education teachers in Idaho.
This position reports to the Director of Professional Development and works closely with professional development and educator certification teams.
The ideal candidate will be motivated and willing to contribute to a team-oriented work environment that fosters collaboration and encourages creative solutions and strategies, to meet professional development and agency-wide objectives.
Key
Responsibilities:
Mentor new teachers in classroom management, Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) management and advising, and first/second/third-year teaching and learning topics.
Observe new teachers in their setting and provide feedback and coaching on pedagogy and classroom management.
Advise limited occupational specialists (LOS) and career technical education alternative authorization (CTE AA) content specialists on professional development requirements in order to apply for a standard teaching certificate.
Develop instruction for new teacher training in classroom management, CTSO advising, program management, and professional teaching.
Use project management tools and techniques to ensure all new teachers are monitored and on task to apply for a standard teaching certification.
Identify, set, and maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance in all aspects of the new teacher training program.
Interpret and explain Idaho Code and administrative rules as it relates to requirements for certification and training for LOS and CTE AA to the public, new teachers, and school/institution administrators.
Contribute to IDCTE's internal budgeting process as it relates to the professional development budgets.
Keep accurate records on teacher progress and mentor activities using internal systems.
Prepare reports on new teacher training for internal and external audiences.
Participate in professional development for teacher education.
Other duties as assigned.
Extensive travel is required for this position.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/credentials.
Current Idaho teacher certification.
Classroom teaching experience in a career technical education program.
Experience in developing and presenting professional development training.
Willing to travel 20 to 40 percent of the work week.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent experience/credentials.
Professional experience pertaining to teacher education and/or training.
Experience mentoring secondary and/or postsecondary teachers.
Experience using Canvas or other learning management system (LMS).
Special Notification:
This position is exempt from the rules of classified service under the provisions of Section 67-5303, Idaho Code.
This position is educational professional exempt from overtime.
