Senior Civil/Water Conveyance Engineer

Design a career and build your future Because it matters!McMillen is seeking a talented Senior Engineer specializing in water conveyance infrastructure for our Civil discipline team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of water pipeline related design focused on civil design, hydraulic analysis, and project management for a variety of applications such as conveyance design, pump station design, hydraulic modeling, and site civil design.
The selected candidate will participate in the design of new hydroelectric facilities, fish hatchery facilities, penstocks, pump stations, pipelines, and appurtenant facilities.
As Senior Engineer, you will perform technical tasks and coordinate multi-disciplined teams consisting of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers or partners to accomplish multiple, concurrent water infrastructure projects.
You will mentor, continuously learn, and work both as a leader and independently.
You will support business development by meeting with clients and supporting project proposals.
The preferred location for this position is in Sacramento, Seattle, Boise, Denver, or Portland, but will consider remote or hybrid arrangements depending on experience.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Develop plans and design schematics for water resource facilities, pipelines, pump stations, site civil design, and yard piping design and related infrastructure projects.
Ensure compliance with required standards and specifications and client requirements.
Perform interdisciplinary coordination and design review.
Perform quality control reviews and inspection processes during project implementation.
Provide specialized technical input related to field construction.
Review all aspects of engineering, bids while ensuring code requirements on project materials, equipment and all site activities are met.
Ensure adherence with project schedule and contract documents.
Present complex technical solutions and recommendations related to estimating and project management of civil design aspects of the project.
Compose reports and perform necessary calculations for design and report submittal.
Apply broad knowledge of principles and practices in specific practice area directing and leading staff to deliver client work.
Independently interact with clients and governing agencies developing relationships to advance our client's projects and position the firm for new work.
Work on multiple projects and able to independently complete or manage staff to complete tasks within budget and on schedule.
Lead the preparation of complete project documents including drawings, specifications, design reports and calculations.
Train, evaluate, recruit, and mentor staff with goal of developing technical/management leaders for the firm.
Assist with and lead proposals to provide professional services.
Able to develop project scope of work, budgets and schedules.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering field 10
years of relevant experience on water, wastewater, and/or water resources projects in a variety of water conveyance and hydraulic engineering experience, including large diameter pipelines, pump stations, water and/or wastewater facility site civil and yard piping design, and/or fish hatcheries and hydropower facilities General understanding of principles and practices of related fields, and ability to function on and lead multidisciplinary teams Experience with hydraulic calculations and/or modeling Proficiency in BlueBeam or other pdf editor Professional Engineering License Ability to plan and manage multiple priorities and assignments Understand and meets budgets and schedules High attention to detail Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with fellow employees, clients, and business associatesCompensation Package:
Pay Range:
$110,000 - $150,000 annual
