The job will be approximately 40 hrs.
per week.
Wage dependent upon experience.
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred.
Primary Responsibilities Manage the health of all resident animals under the direct supervision of the Medical Director/veterinarian Assist veterinarian in exams, surgery and dentistry.
Enact all treatments, changes and care that is required.
Perform intake exams of all incoming and returning residents, including blood draws, disease testing, vaccinations, medical dosing and administration, and triage as needed.
Manage the cat care staff including job application review and selection, interviews, hiring, staff scheduling, and annual reviews.
Oversee the medical treatment and care provided by the Foster Coordinator Manage inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals, food and animal supplies Manage and maintain Controlled Substance Log Communicate with adopters, staff, community and the veterinarian to ensure quality of service and continuity of care.
Educate adopters and the public in regards to the medical need of any given resident.
Perform clerical duties as needed, including answering phones, printing and faxing of documents, creating receipts, running payments, greeting the public and volunteers.
Create and maintain complete detailed medical records of all resident animals, including paper and digital records Maintain and service medical and surgical equipment as necessary Manage flow of occupancy in ward rooms and adoption rooms Research and develop program materials to maintain high standards of care Maintain current Standards Manual per the Medical Director's approved protocols, to ensure accuracy at all times Work with adopters to schedule rechecks, vaccination and deworming as needed Primary point of contact for community calls inquiring about cat health information Other duties as assigned Job Type:
