Overview of Job Function:
The Revenue Accountant position will be responsible for analyzing contracts and sales agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition compliance in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., ASC 985-605 (SOP 97-2), 98-9, EITF 08-01). This position will evaluate revenue recognition and documentation of related conclusions on both pre-order and post order higher value contracts.
Principal Duties and Essential
Responsibilities:
Evaluate revenue recognition and documentation of related conclusions on both pre-order and post-order high value contracts.
Assist with VSOE compliance and internal/external audits and related procedures.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and/or annual closing procedures.
Conduct research as required to assist in drafting Technical Accounting position memos
Work with various internal departments to maintain adherence to revenue accounting.
Provide finance support and work closely with internal departments such as legal, business finance and billing/order management
Review and analyze contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with SEC, GAAP and established company revenue policies
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a similar accounting or finance role position focusing specifically on software revenue recognition such as ASC 985-605 (SOP 97-2), 98-9, EITF 08-01
A 4-year college degree in a related field or the equivalent years of work experience
Must be detailed oriented and highly organized with excellent research skills;
Must be able to analyze complex data
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC and a Social Security verification
Preferred Requirements:
Background in Oracle
Software industry experience
