Overview of Job Function:
The Director, Master Business Data Management position will manage data and system related projects critical to Finance and Company goals. This position is also responsible for managing global company-wide data governance, data cleanup and maintenance, and data migration activities for all customer, install base and item/product master data elements. Additionally, this role will drive initiatives designed to increase availability of data and information to the organization. Participate on executive level initiatives involving systems and process and be responsible for data management related areas.
Principal Duties and Essential
Responsibilities:
Work with a global, geographically disperse, cross-functional team of subject matter experts that will be responsible for business process, data definition and data integration/migration work. Ensure that regional teams follow and support data governance policies. Works with business leaders to understand and provide critical business data for efficient operations.
Direct the manager of the MDM team and help guide priorities and projects.
Work with IT to design and implement data model structures and procedures to ensure accurate and complete data that maximizes efficiency.
Become system and process expert in areas that produce and use needed operational data for general operating areas such as sales, customer support, maintenance renewals, and marketing.
Work with leaders of key business areas on data requirement solutions.
Work with MDM team to design, develop, document and deploy consistent global, company-wide data definitions, processes and ownership guidelines for customer, install base and item/product data elements.
Responsible for development of global data governance models.
Responsible for development of data maintenance processes consistent with industry leading practices
Coordinate activities with local and regional MDM teams on projects and integrations.
Prepare and present presentations to executive team for new initiatives and project updates.
Work with IT to coordinate system changes with process changes.
Work with Manager of MDM to plan resource needs and project scheduling to ensure daily activities and special projects are completed timely and achieve high level of customer support.
Work with senior management and IT on the design of data structures and processes to improve the capture, accuracy, and visibility of data.
Represent and advocate for business requirements in all data integration or migration projects involving customer, install base or item/product data
technologies that support them (i.e., Customer Data Hub)
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of 12 years of demonstrated experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application to include Data Cleansing, Data Compliance, Data Governance, Data Structuring & Maintenance.
A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience managing, coordinating & leading activities across departments or regions.
A 4-year college degree in a related field or the equivalent years of work experience.
Strong technical skills and ability navigate effectively through ERP systems.
Strong proactive problem solving skills, decision-making, and analytical skills.
Experience managing long term projects.
Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills with all levels of management and staff.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationship
Strong MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills.
Must be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple projects and manage deadlines
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and Social Security verification.
Preferred Requirements:
An advanced degree in a related field
Experience working with data sets in Oracle or .
Experience with managing data in an Oracle environment.
Experience using report writing tools and building ad-hoc reports.
Experience leading Master Business Data Management track/team on ERP implementation/business process transformation projects.
Knowledge of Oracle R11 and R12 related to key master data domains (customer, product, install base) and technologies that support them (i.e., Customer Data Hub).
