Overview of Job Function:
The Senior Financial Analyst will provide financial support for the Americas region to include forecasting, budgeting, reporting and analyses. The Senior Financial Analyst will be heavily involved with month-end/quarter end closing as related to revenue recognition analysis and expense forecasting. The Sr. Analyst will also be responsible to maintain, monitor and drive variance analyses and other reporting. The analyst should always be looking to drive process improvements.
Principal Duties and Essential
Responsibilities:
Analysis of business trends/scenarios and key drivers
Development of management reports to analyze monthly financial results, operating results and key metrics
Effective analysis utilizing financial reporting, management accounting and operating metrics to drive results for customer, product and business unit profitability
Drive value-added planning, budgeting and forecasting activities to support annual budgeting and strategic planning process
Responsible for Communication with other departments including Sales, Sales Admin, Revenue Accounting, and Legal to determine proper revenue treatment for forecasting
Responsible to maintain, monitor and drive variance analyses and other reporting.
The analyst should always be looking to drive process improvements
Analyze variances, trends, risks and opportunities, performance against budget/forecast/targets, key business drivers and sensitivities. Highlight operational performance issues and recommend actions
Drive changes into our forecasting models and methods to increase efficiencies and accuracy
Prepare financial and statistical reports as required.
Review entries in the general and statistical ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures.
Perform ad hoc analyses for operational and financial management
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in a Financial Analyst role
A 4 year college degree in Accounting or Finance or the equivalent years of work experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) - Excel skills should be advanced and include knowledge of pivots and lookups
Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect data from multiple sources, interpret and analyze to report to upper management
Ability to provide concise and useful reporting to chain of command as well as internal customers
Strong communication skills, oral and written
Strong time management skills with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work cross departmental with staff level and management level employees to gather detailed information and data for forecasting and reporting needs
Ability to work independently and achieve deadlines
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, credit check and a Social Security verification
Preferred Requirements:
Software and or revenue recognition experience
Experience with Oracle and Cognos
