Job Summary
Responsible for implementation, configuration, maintenance, administration and integrity of software tools, utilities and processes used to support IT operations. Serve as a project resource for production implementation and integration. Lead the implementation and optimization of solutions that address operational needs.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Identify software products, tools, and utilities that meet operational needs. Lead software evaluations based on workflow requirements and structured analysis.
Make recommendations to IT management on the purchase of software, tools and utilities purchases.
Perform implementation, configuration, administration and customization of one or more operational software, systems, utilities, or processes.
Work with IT groups to provide automated solutions and processes utilizing the operational software toolset.
Monitor and tune operational software to achieve optimum performance levels.
Lead and perform ongoing analysis of operations functions to identify opportunities to increase efficiency of resource usage and quality of service.
Develop upgrade plans for operational software and perform upgrade certification and testing.
Assist systems programming and technical groups with installation of version upgrades and new software implementations.
Work with IT groups and vendor's support personnel for problem resolution and configuration.
Serve as project resource to IT projects and serve as technical lead for IT group sponsored projects.
Proactively utilize IT resources to maintain detailed technical product knowledge, remain current with IT technology trends and increase technical skills.
Troubleshoot and diagnose technology problems; repair and replace faulty components; perform periodic testing and preventive maintenance; ensure the regularly scheduled maintenance activities are appropriately performed and logged.
Monitor the technology environment to ensure operation in conformance with specifications and performance metrics.
Prepare system performance statistics and reports for management review
Serve as backup to other Systems Administrators.
Complete other duties or tasks as assigned or assigned by IT management.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in an IT related field OR an equivalent combination education, training and experience in addition to experience listed below.

Experience:
At least three (3) years' work experience in an IT Operations environment or equivalent.
At least one (1) years' work experience as a Systems Administrator I with responsibility for multiple technologies and software packages.
Demonstrating proficiency in one or more of the operational software set, including patch management, software distribution, antivirus, security, problem management, enterprise monitoring, backup/recovery, and tape management.
Demonstrating proficiency in IT process analysis methods.
Demonstrating proficiency in Change control methodologies.
Demonstrating proficiency in Software installation and methods.
Demonstrating proficiency in ITIL/ITSM concepts and principles.
Requiring familiarity with the interrelationship of application development, systems programming, operations, and the support center.
Leading and managing IT projects to successful completion.
Effectively working with product vendors and support personnel.
Exhibiting excellent customer service skills and ability to work with others. Must demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all customer interaction.
Ability to:
Communicate effectively both written and verbal.
Convey ideas in a logical order and professional manner.
Analyze and diagnose technical problems utilizing documentation, tools, and knowledge database.
Multi-task effectively, remaining detail oriented, and maintaining composure in a fast paced IT environment.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of server concepts, principles, maintenance and operation.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and trouble-shooting.
Work various shifts as requested or scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Perform on-call for off-hours support as scheduled which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Perform all tasks efficiently and accurately with confidentiality, honesty and integrity.
Machines and Equipment Operated:
Office machines (computer terminal, copier/scanner, fax machine, telephone etc.).
Preferred Education, Experience and/or Credentials:
One or more industry recognized advanced certification, such as: Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), Vendor specific Storage administration certification, VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or ITIL Foundations certificate

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
