The Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor is responsible for the assessment, treatment and recovery support services coordination for Co-Occurring and substance abuse clients.
Responsible for conducting assessments, facilitating group therapy (utilizing best practice curriculum, and maintaining fidelity of treatment models) and supporting clients in accessing community based services to support the recovery process. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of group sessions, individual appointments and reports to community treatment team for each client on their caseload. Keep abreast of alternative treatment methods including best practices regarding the co-occurring population. Keep up to date with required license and/or certifications as required by IDAPA 16.06.03 Maintain up to date records and billing of clinical staffing according to IDAPA standards utilizing effective written and oral communication. Maintain a direct care rate of 34-36 hours weekly. Participate in discharge planning for participants, working to establish smooth transitions, in multiple dimensions, from care to community. Maintains quality files that consistently meet a 90% quality assurance clearance standard.

Required Skills
Knowledge and experience demonstrating competence in alcohol and substance use disorders prevention techniques, case management and trauma informed care. Strong knowledge and experience working with co-occurring disorders and appropriate ASAM placement criteria. Strong knowledge of community resources. The ability to anticipate and implement crisis intervention services as needed.
Required Experience
Have at least 1040 hours of supervised experience providing substance use disorder treatment, in an alcohol and substance use disorders treatment services setting in a state, federal, Joint Commission, or CARF approved program; State approval includes other states that are approved, licensed, or certified to provide substance use disorders treatment services through their Single State Authority.
Experience facilitating group therapy.
Experience with substance abuse treatment modalities and best practices in Behavioral Health.
Education:
Have a current Idaho Certification for Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CADC).
Have a bachelor's degree in a human services or related field from a nationally-accredited university or college.
Have a case management certificate issued by the Department after training is completed within six months of hire.
Approved Qualified Substance Use Disorders Professional certification through State of Idaho or designated trainee.
Must pass a background check.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
