Job Description:
POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a Database Administrator to work in our Information Technology Applications Support and Development Department.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting Oracle/SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.
Responsible for problem escalation and start-to-finish resolution with Microsoft or Oracle support, End-Users, and third parties as appropriate.
Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases including rollouts and upgrades.
Provide DBA support to multiple SQL & Oracle databases for multiple enterprise applications.
Assist with reporting queries and design as needed.
Some travel required to our headquarters in Hailey, ID. Approximately 10%.
Skills/Attributes:
At least 3 years of Oracle or SQL DBA experience.
Experience working with SQL Server 2008 or 2012 databases.
Experience working with Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g databases.
Transact SQL and/or PL/SQL database development experience required (i.e., packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.).
SQL Server SSIS and Reporting Services experience a plus.
Microsoft PowerShell programming experience a plus.
Korn shell and Bash shell programming experience a plus.
ITIL V3 or V4 training a plus.
Ability to work effectively with a distributed team.
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours for some database maintenance and upgrade tasks.
Must be willing to learn new database, applications, and development skills.
Must take strong self-initiative to solve problems and takes ownership of tasks.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to take on responsibilities with very little supervision.
